Learn About Student Unionism - First Hand!

I'm pleased to report that the Democratizing Education Network (DEN) is holding a retreat on student unionism this October 19-22 in Montréal, Québec. Canada has a vibrant student union movement (expecially compared to its nonexistent counterpart here in the states), and it looks like the workshops will be taking place during a strike!

DEN will be taking care of housing for you, and if you apply ASAP, you'll get a travel grant to pay for most (if not all) of your travel expenses. The gracious Canadian hosts will be the militant student union ASSÉ, which is spearheading the October strike effort.

Retreats like these are important: we have much to learn from our brothers and sisters up north. (And who knows, maybe we can teach them a thing or two...;)

So apply today (and brush up on your French if you'd like)! La lutte continue!

PS - yes, I know it's the same weekend as the No War No Warming and the October Rebellion marches, sadly. But unless it would be your first anti-war or first anti-corporate globalization march, I'd strongly suggest going to Canada. :)
